Snow day

I've never seen a man happier than JFM when he was granted freedom last Friday due to Hurricane Ike. He dropped me off at work in the pouring rain and wind at 7am and trudged off to school, grumpy. However, upon arrival, his principal waved frantically from the door telling him to go home - school had been canceled! He actually still went to work for about an hour before they kicked him out officially. During which time he had already called me three times to tell me about different lunch specials around town that serve .25 martinis....

So, Mr. McDonald enjoyed a free day. He convinced me to leave a little early and we had a late lunch at Eleven 79, a fancy-pants Italian restaurant in our neighborhood with great lunch specials. We dined next to congressmen and business people and giggled a lot (though, maybe that was due to the chianti).
